We both arrived at the same school for the first time in Class 9. Both of our parents dropped us off. We were allotted the same section, found the classroom, and did the most obvious thing two new students could do: we sat together.

Then our class teacher walked in, noticed that the two new kids had already formed a tiny alliance, and immediately separated us - one ahead, one behind, each beside a different student. Reasonable classroom management. Terrible friendship prevention.

Years later, Utkarsh was in college in Hyderabad and Samarth landed a job there. The school timetable was gone, but the habit of showing up stayed.

Every other weekend became the default: meet, catch up, compare notes on work and life, complain about whatever system was currently annoying us, and then go back to our separate weeks.

After finishing his B.Tech and spending a semester on exchange in Paris, Utkarsh came back to India expecting the usual job hunt. Instead, he spent roughly a month and a half to two months unable to find the right role in a brutal market.

The frustration became a list of questions. Why does a résumé have to carry everything? Why is proof of actual work so hard to see? Why is matching opaque? Why can an application disappear without an answer? You can call that unemployment. He started treating it like product research.

Samarth left his job in March 2026 to switch roles and take a proper breather. The idea was to reset for a bit, then find the next thing with a clear head.

The current hiring market made that break considerably less relaxing. He ran into the same noise, the same uncertainty and the same black-box feeling from the candidate side. At some point, complaining about it together turned into building together.

The running joke eventually became the cleanest version of our pitch: two unemployed guys trying to fix the job market.

The joke is real. So is the ambition. We are not pretending one website fixes hiring overnight. We are starting with the parts we can make less broken: put real work closer to the person, make useful proof portable, keep professional networking human, make matching explainable, and make applications end with an answer.
